Welcome to the First National Conference of the Sathya Sai International Organisation (SSIO) Canada.
With the divine blessings of our Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, we are pleased to announce the First National Conference 2016 in Canada, between 21st-23rd May 2016, on the theme “Love All - Serve All”.
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s life, His message, His ideals and His humanitarian works can all be enshrined in one word, that is, Love. His life is His message and His message is love. He says, “God is love; live in love”, and exhorts us to “Start the day with love; Fill the day with love; Spend the day with love; End the day with love; This is the way to God”. Just as the moon can be seen only by moonlight and not with the help of a candle, God who is the Embodiment of Love can be experienced only through love. “But this love”, Bhagawan says, “is unconditional, pure, selfless love which is directed towards God with one pointedness”. Bhagawan also says, “Love is the source; love is the path; and love is the goal”. So, when we live our lives saturated with love, our lives get sanctified. If one could master this single Divine Principle of Love, the other four human values, i.e., Truth, Peace, Righteousness and Non-violence, would also automatically be mastered. Perfect mastery of love amounts to nothing less than Self-realisation.
Selfless service is perhaps the single, most efficient and universal tool for understanding, experiencing and expressing this Divine Principle of Love. Service is love in action. Bhagawan says that the best way to love God is to “love all; serve all”. The main purpose of the Sathya Sai International Organisation is to help one realise one’s innate Divinity by the practice of Divine Love through selfless service. Swami has also made it clear that the quality of service is most important, not the quantity. The spirit or the motive behind service is the deciding factor. When we render service, we should feel that we are serving God. This is why He says, “Service to man is service to God”. Service done in a pure, selfless manner then becomes yoga, leading to union with God.
Let us all be Yogis and His Ambassadors as Bhagawan says, "When a devotee seeks with humility and purity to give service and love to My creatures who are in need of such selfless service and sublime love; when he considers all creatures as My children, as his beloved brothers and sisters, as the blessed manifestations of My Immanence, then in fulfillment of My role as Sathya Sai, I descend to help, accompany, and carry that yogi. I am always near such a yogi to guide him and to shower My love on his life”.
The main objectives of this conference are to a) strengthen our commitment and unite as One Canadian Sai family to serve Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, b) learn and understand the current programs and mission of the SSIO and c) develop new initiatives to realize our vision of happy, harmonious, and loving Canadian communities. It also offers a blessed opportunity to share Bhagawan’s message, His love, and His work. He said, “Unity is Divinity. Purity is Enlightenment.” This is a golden chance for us to experience that Unity.
Distinguished keynote speakers for the conference are:
· Dr. Narendranath Reddy, Chairman, Prasanthi Council;
· Leonardo Gutter, Member, Prasanthi Council;
· Dr. Phil Gosselin, Zone 1 Chair, SSIO; and
· Dr. David Gries, Co-Chairman, Publications, SSIO.
The conference includes cultural programs, devotional singing, exhibition, workshops, panel discussion, questions and answers, and interactive sessions on the profound Divine message of Bhagawan.
Let us all thus join in this special offering to Bhagawan by participating with great enthusiasm in the First National Conference, and contributing constructively to our individual and collective spiritual progress in this world.
